A solo-only course that starts in downtown Blairmore half an hour after the 100-mile, runs up the Drum Creek drainage to Heartbreak Hill, then continues onto Leg 3, Willoughby Ridge, and finishes at TA2/TA3 on the edge of Blairmore. The 50 km is not a straight half of the 100-mile. Runners start at 7:30 am on Saturday and have 13.5 hours. In 2027 and 2028 it is the Athletics Canada Short Trail Championship race.
The race rates the first 22.8 km 4 out of 7 and Leg 3, Willoughby Ridge, 6 out of 7. Leg 3 is known as Satan's Sack and is dry, hot and exposed. The route splits from the 100-mile at CP1a, and the race warns that some 50 km runners have started at the 100-mile time, so know the route and watch the signs. Trail types are road, gravel, single track and double track.
A mountain ultra through the Rocky Mountains of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, with a 100-mile, a 50-mile, a 50 km and a half marathon. The 100 miles are split into seven legs, each built around a landmark of the area such as the Frank Slide and Seven Sisters Mountain, and can be run solo or as a relay of up to seven people. Solo runners have 30 hours for the 100 miles. The race is named for the Seven Sisters mountain that looms over much of the course.
The first Sinister 7 was run in 2008. The course has changed over the years: an original course from 2008 to 2010, a 148 km course from 2011 to 2013, and then a 100-mile course. In 2022 the 100-mile course was run in reverse.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.
Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.
This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.
Somebody watches it before it goes anywhere near this page. What we are after is footage of this course, on the ground. If it would be just as true of any other race, it is not this.
We want the address of the file the race publishes, not the file. We download it from there so the page can say where the line came from.
We read every one of these and we write back. Every fact here carries the source it came from, and the way a wrong one gets fixed is a person checking it against what you tell us.
Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.
No account, and nothing to cancel.
What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.
I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
