Where it goes

Starts from the same line as the other distances but heads the opposite way, east, without the short loop past the open shelter. It follows the 10K loop for the first 3.7 km, then splits off to head back.

There are no aid stations on the 5K course.

The race

What this one is

A trail run in Mendon Ponds Park, south of Rochester, New York, with a 50K, a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K. The 50K is five laps of a 10K loop on doubletrack and some singletrack, with many rolling hills. It starts and finishes at Stewart Lodge.

The Rochester Orienteering Club has offered the Mendon Trail Run since 1994. It raises funds to support the club's activities.
