One lap of the Lethbridge river valley, with three aid stations and segments of 7 to 16 km, about 16 hills and 1,200 m of climb. The top times run just over 4 hours.
Each lap crosses about 16 hills (coulees), most of them 150 to 250 feet. In the 50 km lap there is 36 km of single track, 2 km of pavement, 5 km of gravel road and 7 km of shale path. The course is mostly exposed, with about 20% tree cover. Past the 4.5 km water station on Leg 4, help may take 2 hours to arrive and cell coverage is spotty.
The Lost Soul Ultra runs in the Oldman River valley in Lethbridge, Alberta, over a 50 km loop of coulees, single track, shale path and river bottom with about 16 hills per lap. A 50 km, a 100 km and a 100 mile all start and finish at Softball Valley, and the 100 km and 100 mile are Western States qualifiers. The race is small, run by volunteers, and finishers get an etched rock.
The Lost Soul Ultra was founded in 2000 by a group of ultrarunners. It grew from a small 40-person event where everyone received a sandwich at the end of the race. The original goal was to offer the toughest (and nicest) race on the Prairies.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.
Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.
This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.
Somebody watches it before it goes anywhere near this page. What we are after is footage of this course, on the ground. If it would be just as true of any other race, it is not this.
We want the address of the file the race publishes, not the file. We download it from there so the page can say where the line came from.
We read every one of these and we write back. Every fact here carries the source it came from, and the way a wrong one gets fixed is a person checking it against what you tell us.
Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.
No account, and nothing to cancel.
What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.
I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
