The 5 mile race runs on the trails south of Tipps Point. Runners head out on the yellow trail 3.1 miles to the turnaround just before the park office, then return on the pink trail 2 miles to the finish at Tipps Point.
The trails range from simple and flat to moderately difficult sections with rocks and roots.
The Lake Murray Endurance Run is held every year in late October at Lake Murray State Park near Ardmore, Oklahoma, with races of 100 miles, 100K, 50K, 25K and 5 miles, all starting and finishing at Tipps Point. Lake Murray is Oklahoma's first and largest state park, 12,500 acres of forested rolling hills with over 30 miles of trail. The trails range from simple and flat to moderately difficult sections with rocks and roots. It is a cupless race, with a buckle for 100 mile and 100K finishers.
