Five identical 20-mile laps on trails connecting the Mānoa, Makiki, and Nuʻuanu valleys above Honolulu, on technical single-track through rainforest.
"The HURT 100 course consists almost exclusively of technical, single-track trail on surfaces that include roots, rocks, and soil in a wide range of conditions, from sun-baked clay to mud of varying depth. Sudden hairpin turns and steep inclines of up to approximately two miles in length are a common occurrence." There are 20 stream crossings (4 per lap); one crossing near Nuʻuanu is on scattered, slippery rock and runners will likely get wet feet. HURT's own About page: "the HURT 100 has become known worldwide as one of the hardest 100-mile races." The race is capped at 135 starters; the first HURT 100 in 2001 had 8 finishers. Per HURT's own public results archive (through the 2026 race), the last five editions recorded 75 (2024), 85 (2025) and 84 (2026) finishers — no starters count is published alongside these finisher counts, so a finish-rate percentage cannot be computed from this source alone.
The Hawaiian Ultra Running Team's Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run: a five-lap, 100-mile race on technical single-track in the rainforest above Honolulu, run every January.
HURT traces its roots to a group of Hawaiʻi trail and ultra runners in the early 1980s who called themselves the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team. In 2001, four local runners (Jeff Huff, Greg Cuadra, akabill Molmen, and Greg Pirkl) brought the idea of a 100-mile trail race in Hawaiʻi to John Salmonson, and the HURT 100 Mile Endurance Run was born. The first HURT 100 had eight finishers. The race is organized today by HURT Inc, a 501(c)(3) formed in 2020.

This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.
We want the address of the file the race publishes, not the file. We download it from there so the page can say where the line came from.
We read every one of these and we write back. Every fact here carries the source it came from, and the way a wrong one gets fixed is a person checking it against what you tell us.
NavRun builds your pacing from your own training, then turns it into a plan your crew can follow: when to leave and where to park.
