Who's going to Canal Corridor Endurance Run?

Free. You can start with nothing.

Free, and always will be. NavRun makes money from race-day planning for runners who want it, never from this. Ultras change constantly, sometimes the morning of. Always confirm with the race director and the official website before you rely on anything here.

The 100 Mile runs north from Akron to the Lock 29 turnaround, returns to Akron, runs south to the Craig Pittman turnaround, and comes back to the finish. The race describes it as a double out and back, with 30 miles north of Akron and 70 south. The 2026 running is a qualifier for the 2027 Western States Endurance Run lottery.

The race gives the elevation gain over the whole 100 Mile course as about 2000 feet. The towpath is a crushed limestone trail that occasionally yields to asphalt or concrete walkway, roughly 70% crushed limestone to 30% asphalt.

The race

What this one is

A fast, flat ultra on the Ohio & Erie Canalway towpath, starting and finishing at Missing Falls Brewery in downtown Akron, Ohio. The 100 Mile is joined in 2026 by two 50 Mile options: a Front Half that starts at 7:00AM and a Back Half that starts at 6:00PM. The towpath is mostly crushed limestone with some asphalt and concrete.

The 2026 race was the 10th annual Canal Corridor Endurance Run, and the 50 Mile options were new that year. Construction and closures have changed the route over the years, and the race says it has never been able to run the same course twice.

Crew rules
The race calls its layout an open course. Some aid stations allow crew and others do not, and the aid station chart shows which. Crew may also meet a runner at the extra crew-accessible locations on the race's Additional Crew Locations chart, or at any other point along the Ohio & Erie Canalway. seotrevents.com
Pacer rules
Pacing is allowed starting at the Canal Fulton 1 aid station. Pacers may join their runner at any crew-allowed aid station after that point. Pacers do not need to register or check in. Runners may only have one pacer at one time. seotrevents.com
Drop bag rules
Drop bags go to Spaghetti Warehouse (mile 29.85), Canal Fulton (miles 48.75 and 81.75) and Craig Pittman (mile 65.25). Drop bags should be a reasonable size, roughly a small duffel, draw-string sack or small daypack. Bags can be dropped off during Friday packet pickup or on race morning at the start line; the Spaghetti Warehouse bag drop is self-serve on race morning. seotrevents.com

What it looks like out there

Somebody has been out there with a camera the tables say the climb is long. these say what long feels like.

One person has been out there with a camera or a microphone.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.

Ultras change. We will tell you when this one does.

Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.

No account, and nothing to cancel.

What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.

I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
