The course

Where it goes multi-loop · 3 aid stations

A 200-mile, multi-loop race on a 3.2-mile course, with one central aid station that runners return to on every lap. The course is flat, with about 5,231 feet of total climb across the full 200 miles, and roughly three-quarters paved trail with the rest gravel, packed dirt and grass. Runners have 100 hours to finish. There is no qualifying standard.

Around 25% of this course is a mix of gravel, packed dirt and grass while the other 75% is a paved trail system.

The race

What this one is

Black Barn 200 is a 200-mile race on a 3.2-mile loop course in Bonney Lake, Washington, with one large, well-stocked central aid station instead of a chain of smaller ones. Runners can go with a full crew or entirely self-supported: because the loop keeps everyone close to Race HQ, a crew never has to rush between stops, and a solo runner never has to carry much. Free camping sits right next to the course, so runners and crews can rest, reset and get back on the loop without losing time. Entry is open to anyone; there is no qualifying standard. Every runner's attempt is filmed and turned into a short documentary of their day, finisher or not, at no extra cost. Finishers earn a custom minted buckle with their name and result engraved on the back.

The first edition of Black Barn 200 runs in September 2026.

What it looks like out there

Somebody has been out there with a camera the tables say the climb is long. these say what long feels like.

2 people have been out there with a camera or a microphone.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.

Ran this race? Tell the next runner what you know.

Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.

Leave blank if it applies to the whole race.

Leave blank if it is not about one particular stop.

Optional. Something like “Cal Street, mile 62 to 78”.

Write it the way you would say it to someone at the start line.

Optional, and it decides nothing. It only tells the next runner where this is coming from.

This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.

Somebody watches it before it goes anywhere near this page. What we are after is footage of this course, on the ground. If it would be just as true of any other race, it is not this.

Required. A line is plenty. Where the climbs are, what the footing does, what the last twenty miles look like.
