Eryri 100M is a 163 km, 9,200 m+ loop from Llanberis with a 48 hour limit. It starts at 14:00 on Friday and runs through two nights.

Terrain runs from rocky scree and boulder fields to boggy moorland, with technical ridges and some easy scrambling.

The race

What this one is

A 163 km loop of the northern mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia), starting from Llanberis on Friday afternoon and finishing back in the village. The route passes over Glyder Fawr, Carnedd Llewelyn, Moel Siabod, Moelwyn Mawr, Cnicht, Moel Hebog and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and has 48 hours to finish.

Eryri by UTMB began as an idea in 2015, when British runner Michael Jones, training for UTMB in the Alps, wondered why the UK had no ultra-trail race with a similar mountain character. It became Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB, first held in 2018. From 2027 the event is called Eryri by UTMB, using the Welsh name for the area.

Cutoff philosophy
Cut-offs are set so that someone running or walking at an average pace can reach each aid station and the finish inside the time allowance. They are there for the safety of runners, volunteers and the mountain safety team. The recommended minimum average speed, breaks included, is 4.5 km/h on training runs up to 60 km and 3.5 km/h above that. eryri.utmb.world

What it looks like out there

Somebody has been out there with a camera the tables say the climb is long. these say what long feels like.

Nobody has been out there with a camera or a microphone yet. A gap means nobody has found it, not that it is not out there. Seen a course preview or a film of this one? Send us the link.

Ultras change. We will tell you when this one does.

Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.

No account, and nothing to cancel.

What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.

I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
