Run or walk as many laps as you like in 24 hours on the Tideland National Recreation Trail, which meanders along the White Oak River, its salt marsh and forest. The loop is run clockwise and passes the aid station and timing tent every lap.
Compact, stable crushed gravel trail with minimal trip hazards and several aluminum and wooden footbridges; the wooden bridges can be slippery when wet and have no hand rails. The trail starts and ends at 5 ft and varies from 3 to 6 ft across the bridges. At the .68 mile point it rises from 5 to 22 ft and returns to 5 ft over the next .2 miles.
A 24 hour timed run on a USATF certified 1.37779 mile loop of the Tideland National Recreation Trail in the Croatan National Forest, with a full aid station every lap. All proceeds go to the Marine Raider Foundation.
