The race

What this one is

A fundraiser run for Smile-A-Mile at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. A 10K and a 12 hour race lap a 3.4 mile loop around Double Oak Lake, starting and finishing at the Cedar Pavilion, and a half mile Kids Half follows for children.

The Run for Kids Challenge was the first race the director put on, in 2011 at Veteran's Park in Hoover. The race donates 100% of proceeds beyond basic expenses to Smile-A-Mile.
