The race

What this one is

Point-to-point trail race on the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama, from Porters Gap on Highway 77 across Horn Mountain and Rebecca Mountain to Lake Howard in Sylacauga. 50 mile and 50K start at Porters Gap; the 25K runs the Sylaward Trails at Lake Howard. Aid Station 13 of the Pinhoti 100 sits at the start, so the first miles preview that course in daylight.

The 2026 running was the 10th annual 50 Miler, the 2nd annual 50K and the 1st annual 25K. Part of the Pinhoti Trail Races series, which also runs the Pinhoti 100, Mt Cheaha 50K, Oak Mountain and Rockin Choccolocco.

What it looks like out there

Somebody has been out there with a camera the tables say the climb is long. these say what long feels like.

One person has been out there with a camera or a microphone.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.

Ultras change. We will tell you when this one does.

Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.

No account, and nothing to cancel.

What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.

I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
