The 50K takes a shuttle from the upper McKenzie community center to the Olallie North trailhead for a gun start, then climbs to the summits of Horsepasture Mountain (5,675ft), Macduff Mountain (5,060ft) and Kings Castle, with a 6 mile out and back to East Fork trailhead, and finishes at the community center.
The page says over 8,000 ft of climbing (approximate) and calls it possibly the most difficult 50K in Oregon. It starts with 6 miles climbing 3,400 feet, then the longest stretch without aid is around 8 miles gaining 1300ft. The East Fork out and back is 6 miles with 1,100 ft of gain, then 1700 ft up to Kings Castle, with a 2,700 ft drop in the final 6 miles.
Rainbow Ridge is a 20k and 50k trail race out of the upper McKenzie community center near Rainbow, Oregon, with big climbs through old growth forest and summits at Horsepasture Mountain, Macduff Mountain and Kings Castle. A portion of race proceeds goes to Bridgeway House, a school for kids with autism spectrum disorder.
The 2026 race was year 2.

Nobody has been out there with a camera or a microphone yet. A gap means nobody has found it, not that it is not out there. Seen a course preview or a film of this one? Send us the link.

This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.
Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.
Somebody watches it before it goes anywhere near this page. What we are after is footage of this course, on the ground. If it would be just as true of any other race, it is not this.
We want the address of the file the race publishes, not the file. We download it from there so the page can say where the line came from.
We read every one of these and we write back. Every fact here carries the source it came from, and the way a wrong one gets fixed is a person checking it against what you tell us.
Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.
No account, and nothing to cancel.
What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.
I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
