MuleSkinner's 50 Miler starts at 5:00 AM, before dawn, and has a 14-hour cutoff, starting and finishing at Tinicum Park on the Delaware Canal towpath. Entry requires at least two marathon-or-longer finishes, within their cutoff times, in the past two years. Headlamps are recommended for the early miles, and 50 Milers may carry a drop bag.
MuleSkinner runs the Delaware Canal towpath along the Delaware River in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with a half marathon, marathon, 50K and 50 miler all starting and finishing at Tinicum Park. The towpath is flat, fast and non-technical, and the race is built as a generous-cutoff, welcoming first trail ultra rather than a mountain test. Aid stations come roughly every 6 to 7 miles with water, fruit, cookies, pretzels, Gatorade and soda, and it's a cup-free race, so bring your own bottle or cup. A portion of every entry supports the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, which helps keep the towpath in shape.
MuleSkinner began in 2019. The 2021 edition did not run. It has been held every October since, and 2026 is its 7th running.
