Where it goes · 2 aid stations

Circles Couchville Lake, goes out and back on the Bryant Grove trail, runs the cliff trail loop and heads out on the Jones Mill trail, a longer stretch of it than the marathon.

Flat and only mildly technical. The 2-mile loop around Couchville Lake is a paved greenway, and the only other non-dirt sections are the roads that connect the trails. Road shoes can work if it has not rained right before the race.

The race

What this one is

Three distances, the half marathon, the marathon and the 50K, all inside Long Hunter State Park a few miles outside Nashville. Every distance circles Couchville Lake, goes out and back on the Bryant Grove trail and runs the cliff trail loop. The start and finish are in a wide-open field where deer and turkeys often walk through. The course is flat and only mildly technical, a mix of dirt trail and paved greenway, and finishers get handmade clay arrowheads.

Crew rules
Crews and friends can help a runner only at the Couchville and Bryant Grove aid stations. Help anywhere else gets the runner disqualified. Spectators can go to the Jones Mill and Inland parking areas to cheer. greentunnelevents.com

Drop bag rules
Drop bags are for 50K runners and go to the Bryant Grove aid station. Leave the bag at the start line, labelled with your name or bib number, and it is taken to Bryant Grove. To get it back before the aid station breaks down, go there to collect it. docs.google.com
Cutoff philosophy
The course is not swept and nobody is pulled for being behind the cutoff. The directors want everyone to enjoy the park even if they don't have their best day. A finish after the cutoff is recorded as an unofficial finish. docs.google.com
