3 laps of the main 10.4 mile loop from the Visitor Center through Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave, run clockwise.

The race says each 10 mile loop has about 1300 feet of elevation gain, with stream crossings, deep gorges and challenging elevation changes. Road crossings are not stopped for traffic; cars have the right-of-way.

A trail race starting at the Hocking Hills State Park Visitor Center, near Old Man's Cave, with five distances from 5K to 50K on trails through the park and Hocking State Forest, past Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave.

The race says its history dates back to 1978 and that 2026 was its 49th annual running. The courses were redesigned in 2025 to remove most road sections.
