Free. You can start with nothing.
A 6-hour run/walk on a 2.8-mile loop. You can walk or run as little or as much as you like in the time frame. Both events run on the same 2.8-mile cross-country loop at Goose Island Park. The race goes on rain or shine, and the race clock keeps running if the directors suspend the event. Anyone leaving the loop to rest checks out with the lap counters and checks back in when starting again.
The standard course is a flat loop of bumpy grass sections, a single-track wooded trail and a gravel road along the backwaters of the Mississippi River. The loop distance may vary slightly depending on river water levels.
The Goosebumps 6/24 Hour Run/Walk is a fundraiser at Goose Island Park in Stoddard, Wisconsin, hosted by the River City Running Club. You walk or run laps of a 2.8-mile wooded cross-country loop for 6 or 24 hours, as little or as much as you like. Some participants have logged over 100 miles in the 24 hours.
The Goosebumps Run began as a grassroots fundraiser in La Crosse and Stoddard, Wisconsin, started by the Local Lupus Alliance to support people and families affected by lupus. It grew into a 6 and 24 hour endurance event, now hosted by the River City Running Club.
Nobody has been out there with a camera or a microphone yet. A gap means nobody has found it, not that it is not out there. Seen a course preview or a film of this one? Send us the link.
Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.
This changes nothing on the page on its own. Somebody checks it against the race first.
Somebody watches it before it goes anywhere near this page. What we are after is footage of this course, on the ground. If it would be just as true of any other race, it is not this.
We want the address of the file the race publishes, not the file. We download it from there so the page can say where the line came from.
We read every one of these and we write back. Every fact here carries the source it came from, and the way a wrong one gets fixed is a person checking it against what you tell us.
Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.
No account, and nothing to cancel.
What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.
I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
