Eight legs from the Stake Lake parking lot: the 50km course run twice, with every leg ending back at the start/finish area. Run solo, or as a relay team. Solo finishers receive a belt buckle. Roughly 2,000 m of climbing.

The race

What this one is

Trail races at the Stake Lake Nordic Centre, south of Kamloops on Lac Le Jeune Road: a 100km, a 50km and a 25km by day, a 25km at night, and relay teams for the 100km and 50km. Every leg starts and finishes at the Stake Lake parking lot, so runners pass their own gear and drop bags every 10 to 15km. The trails mix singletrack, double track, hills, rocks and roots, with a couple of technical rock sections.

The Dirty Feet results pages list a Heartbreak 50km at Stake Lake on August 29 and 30, 2020, again on August 29, 2021, and as the Heartbreak Ultra at Stake Lake from 2022.
