The course

Where it goes point to point · 13 aid stations · rust marks a stop your crew can reach

A point-to-point trail race through the Chattahoochee National Forest in the North Georgia mountains, from Blairsville to Blue Ridge. The race describes tough, and sometimes technical, single track, steep ascents and even steeper descents, an historic steel bridge over the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine, and ferns, old growth poplar and hardwood forest, rocks, roots and ridge lines. All aid stations except Poor Decisions, which is unmanned and water only, are stocked with water, sports drink, Coke, Mountain Dew, ginger ale, sandwiches, cookies, chips, candy, fruit and pickles, and some have simple hot food such as soup, grilled cheese, ramen and broth.

Steep ascents, steeper descents, rocks, roots and ridge lines, with some technical single track. The route also crosses and runs along paved roads, and runners are told to be alert for cars. Black bears, venomous snakes, ground nesting yellow jackets, ticks and poison ivy are on the trail. In May temperatures typically range between 50F and 75F and rain is possible.

What it looks like out there

Somebody has been out there with a camera the tables say the climb is long. these say what long feels like.

2 people have been out there with a camera or a microphone.

These are other people's work and we link straight to them. Watching costs nothing and needs no account. More of them: every race we hold, on film.

Nobody sees it until we have read it. No account, no sign-in.

Leave blank if it applies to the whole race.

Leave blank if it is not about one particular stop.

Optional. Something like “Cal Street, mile 62 to 78”.

Ultras change. We will tell you when this one does.

Cutoffs move, races get postponed, lotteries open and close. We read the race's own sources and record where every fact came from. Put your email in and we will send you what changed, and where we read it.

No account, and nothing to cancel.

What happens to your email. Nothing else. I do not sell it, and I will not send you anything except this race changing. One click gets you out.

I keep this catalog because the information is scattered and hard to trust. Telling you when it moves is the same job.
