100 Mile Race Calendar for 2027 and Beyond¶
Every date in one place, from a first 50K to a fifth hundred. Print it, mark it up, and start with the month you can actually train toward.
This is not every ultra. It is the races I could read on the race's own page, or on a page that cites it, while writing this on November 7, 2026. Each row says where the date came from. Dates move, so check the race's page before you book anything.
NavRun keeps a free public catalog of ultras at navrun.app/ultras, from 50Ks and backyard ultras to 100 and 200 milers. Each race has its own page for each year, with distances, dates and course details. No account needed. The table below is a short list to get you started. The catalog is where you keep going.
Are there any 100 mile races scheduled for 2026?¶
Mostly they have happened. It is November 2026 as I write. Javelina Jundred ran October 31 to November 1, 2026, with a 100 mile, a 100K and a 31K, per its race page.
I did not verify a full 2026 list, and I will not guess at one. If a race you want is still ahead of you this year, the race catalog has a Month filter and a status filter (registration open, full, cancelled). Check the race's own page before you drive anywhere.
Most of the useful planning now is 2027.
The 2027 calendar¶
Distances are in miles unless the race says otherwise. "Entry" is how you get in, and it matters more than the date: several of these are lotteries that open this winter.
| Race | Distance | 2027 date | How you get in | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chuckanut 50K (Bellingham, WA) | 50K | Sat, March 20 | Check the race site | Vert.run race guide, which cites the race's own site |
| Western States 100 (CA) | 100 miles | June 26-27 | Lottery, applications Nov 1-21, 2026; draw Dec 5, 2026. Needs a qualifying finish from Nov 3, 2025 to Nov 8, 2026 | wser.org and entry process |
| Hardrock 100 (Silverton, CO) | 100 miles | Starts 6:00 am, Fri July 9 | Lottery on UltraSignup; applications open the first two weeks of October, draw the first weekend of December | hardrock100.com and entry page |
| Vermont 100 (VT) | 100 miles and 100K | July 16-18 | Early entry Dec 11-20, 2026; lottery sign-up Jan 1-8, 2027 | vermont100.com and race entry |
| Wasatch Front 100 (UT) | 100 miles | First Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. Labor Day 2027 is Sept 6, so by that rule Sept 10-11 | Application and selection; see the race's 2027 page | wasatch100.com |
| Bear 100 (UT and ID) | 100 miles | Sept 24-25 (6 am start, 36 hour limit) | Lottery on UltraSignup, Nov 15 to Dec 10, 2026; draw Dec 19. Needs a qualifier | bear100.com |
A few notes on the table.
- The Wasatch date is my arithmetic, not a posted date. The race's page gives the rule ("the first Friday and Saturday after Labor Day") and I applied it. Confirm on the race's 2027 page.
- I could not open an entry fee or registration date for Chuckanut. The guide I read did not give them. Go to the race site.
- Western States wants a qualifier. The race's entry page says you must finish a qualifying race in a set one-year window, and that window for the 2027 race ends November 8, 2026. If it is a later goal, the same page is where the next window will be posted.
- Bear 100 also asks for a qualifier. The page says you must complete a qualifying race within the required window before you enter the lottery.
Races I looked for and could not confirm a 2027 date for, so they are not in the table: Run Rabbit Run, Moab 240, Big's Backyard Ultra. Their dates may be out by the time you read this. Look them up in the catalog.
How much does it cost to do a 100 mile race?¶
The entry fee alone, from the race pages I read:
| Race | Entry fee | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Hardrock 100 | $450 plus UltraSignup processing fees | entry page |
| Vermont 100 | $450 for the 100 mile, $400 for the 100K | race entry |
| Javelina Jundred (2026 pricing) | $525 for the 100 mile, $375 for the 100K, $195 for the 31K, before tax and UltraSignup fees | race page |
| Western States 100 | $575 plus the online fee, charged to lottery selectees | entry process |
That is a range of $450 to $575 for a hundred miler, before online fees. It is only the entry. Travel, a place to sleep, shoes, food, and whoever crews or paces you are on top of it, and I have no verified number for those, so I will not make one up. Fees also change by year, and some races say pricing starts on a later date. Treat the table as last known, not a quote.
If cost is the thing keeping you from signing up, a 50K or 50 miler at a smaller race is a real way into the sport. You do not have to start with a hundred.
How far ahead should I pick a race to train for it?¶
The entry dates above are the honest answer for the races that run a lottery. Read them as a clock:
- Western States applications close November 21, 2026 for a race on June 26-27, 2027. That is about seven months.
- Vermont 100's lottery sign-up runs January 1-8, 2027 for a July 16-18 race. Same shape.
- Bear 100's lottery drawing is December 19, 2026 for a race on September 24-25, 2027. About nine months.
So for a lottery race, you decide before you know if you are in. You can train toward a date you might not get and still have a 50K or 50 miler as a fallback on the same calendar.
For races without a lottery, the real number is how long your own training needs, and that depends on what you have behind you. How long to train for a first ultramarathon walks through it. If you are picking a first race, what makes a good first ultramarathon is the one to read. For hundreds specifically, how 100 mile races work covers cutoffs, crew and pacers.
If you are not sure where to start, pick the month you can train toward, not the race you have heard of. A race you can show up to rested beats a famous one you arrive at behind.
Your own calendar (print this)¶
Copy this into a notes app or print the page. Fill in the dates from the race's own site, and leave a blank where you have not checked yet. A blank is not a no.

Three habits that keep a calendar like this useful:
- Write the lottery date, not just the race date. The lottery is when the decision happens.
- Write the date you checked. A date you read in March may have moved by August.
- Put one shorter race on the list. A 50K or 50 miler a couple of months before a hundred is a rehearsal for the real one, and a fallback if the lottery says no.
Put the race on your NavRun calendar¶
When you have picked one, add it to NavRun so your training counts down to that date. The add-a-race search looks through the race catalog first, so the race you chose is usually one tap away, and you pick the distance you are running. Race Management keeps your races, goal times and finish history in one place. The race catalog post covers what each race page shows, and 100 mile races near me shows how to filter by state.
I would rather say what the catalog does not do. It is not every race. A race gets a page once someone has researched it, and the dates on it can be out of date. Where nobody has checked a fact, the page says "not checked yet" and never turns a blank into an answer.
What this page does not know¶
- It lists seven or so races. There are far more.
- Dates and fees were read from the pages linked, in November 2026. Races change them.
- I have no verified count of how many hundreds run in 2027, and no verified fee for travel or gear.
- Nothing here is a recommendation of one race over another.
